Our Australian Heritage Virtual Projects

The student virtual builds are looking fantastic and all students are working on their information reports to be published on their individual student blogs. Both Lachlan and Leon are sharing their ideas as they develop skills using sim-on-a-stick. Mrs Booth was amazed with the quality of their artefacts. Lachlan is continuing on Sydney Harbour Bridge and the horse drawn carriages that crossed it. He has also made a ship coming into the harbour. Leon is very meticulous with his building of a Cobb & Co carriage and his attention to detail is wonderful. Josh is doing amazing things as he builds his Aboriginal shelter thinking about the trees and other flora that would have existed at the time of his build. Just positioning the branches in the shelter has taken a lot of concentration. Jorjah, Isabella, Danica and Tayla are continuing with their HMS Endeavour builds and they are fantastic! Again the attention to detail is amazing with bunk beds, rugs, chairs and tables. Brooke is creating Bentley’s Hotel which is better known as the Eureka Hotel which was burnt down during a riot with gold miners. Some students were away on Friday but Mrs Booth is very pleased with all the students work. We only have a short amount of time each week and there isn’t much time left so the blog research reports will need to be finalised this week! We hopefully will be Skyping Dunoon Public School this Friday to talk about our projects and research as they also are studying Australian history and using Sim-on-a-Stick in their 3/4 classroom: Click on this link to see their work-DPS Virtual Builds

  1. Crossmaglen students are teriffic. The other day one of the year 3 boys arrived at school with an injury. His mum asked him to avoid playing with a ball for the day. All the other students were playing with balls so he sat down watching them. A year 6 boy, carrying his schoolbag asked me if I could open the classroom. I asked if he could please look after the injured boy. He replied “That’s why we need to get into the classroom. So we can get the blocks to play with him.”

  2. Great kids blossoming under the care of great teachers Mrs Champion! 🙂
