Design Project

The students have been working hard over the past few weeks on their design projects for a boat. The brief was that the prototype had to float and sail – move with the assistance of wind. The children then added the complication of  load (450 grams). All boats were successful in carrying this weight with stability being the main issue. Sadly we had a hole in our bucket (tub) of water and the tide was going out fast! The students and teachers did throw around the idea of moving across the road to the neighbours dam but then we thought who would dive in to rescue our boats if a strong breeze took hold and Mrs Peart didn’t bring her swimmers 🙂

It was great fun and excellent to see the students working so well together to solve design issues and improve on them.
