This week K- 2 students have been working on addition with numbers from 1- 30. Yesterday Year 1 students wrote their first name with pencils and counted how many pencils it took before then using additional pencils to write their last name. Students then performed algorithms to work out how many pencils in total were required to write their whole name.
For example: 15 pencils were used to create a first name
Then 18 pencils were used to create their last name.
So 15+18 = ?
